I am an integrative contemporary psychotherapist (UKCP accredited) and I have gained extensive experience over 20 years working in professional practice.
I work together with clients to treat a range of concerns and issues, though people tend to see me due to challenges they are experiencing with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, addiction, compulsive patterns of behaviour and traumatic stress.
My experience has included working in private practice, in public and private healthcare services and also within the charity sector. I have led specialist clinics, including both the addiction and eating disorder services of Priory Hospital Roehampton, and I sit on the clinical board of a London based clinic.
My approach is collaborative and integrative. This means I view the client as the expert of their experience and I am reminded daily that everyone’s experience of life and it’s challenges is intensely unique and personal. Therefore, my focus is always on what each person wishes to achieve from our work together. As an integrative psychotherapist I continually develop my therapeutic skill set to ensure that I can avail of a broad range of evidenced approaches, techniques and tools in our work together.
This integrative approach enables us to adapt the therapy to your specific needs and I am trained in a number of therapeutic modalities to support this approach:
- UKCP accredited psychotherapist
- EMDR practitioner
- Internal Family Systems therapist
- Cognitive hypnotherapist
- Meditation and reflection practitioner
About Me
Irish born and raised, I lived and worked in other European countries before settling in England many years ago. I have a love of language, travel and nature, a curiosity for people and a delight in experiencing the richness of different cultures.
My initial professional background was in the commercial sector before I retrained – after initial undergraduate psychology and postgraduate neuropsychology degrees – as a psychotherapist.
Getting in Touch
I recognise that taking a first step to seek therapy can feel daunting but, in practice, therapy tends to consist of curiosity, connection, exploration, self-acceptance and humour. To support this initial first step, I invite potential clients to have an initial zoom or telephone call for approx. 20 mins, so we can meet and consider how we might work together.
Sessions and Fees
Please contact me or see my website for information on sessions and fees. I provide a small number of reduced fee sessions.
I work at Eaton Gate Practice on Thursdays and I also work online.
